Who we are
StarterBlox Foundation was founded by two individuals born and raised in the Caribbean, one from Haiti and one from Jamaica. Having experienced firsthand the challenges faced by children and families on the islands, they share a deep appreciation for their upbringing and a strong desire to give back. The foundation is rooted in those early experiences and guided by a commitment to expanding access to education, health, hygiene, and essential school resources.
Growing up in island communities shaped their understanding of both resilience and limitation, where talent and ambition often outpaced available resources. That perspective informs how StarterBlox Foundation approaches its work today, with a focus on practical support, local partnership, and long term impact. The goal is not only to provide supplies, but to help remove barriers that prevent young people, especially girls, from staying in school and shaping their own futures.
Our Team.
The Team of StarterBlox Foundation is led by its two founders and supported by two accomplished professional women of Jamaican heritage. Together, the board brings a balance of lived experience, business ownership, and advanced education. This diverse perspective strengthens the foundation’s governance and ensures decisions remain grounded in community knowledge, accountability, and a shared commitment to expanding opportunity for the young women we serve.
