A Partnership Across Borders StarterBlox Foundation is proud to announce a heartfelt contribution from Friendship Woodbridge International Elementary and Middle School. Their community organized an in-kind donation of essential supplies valued at nearly $300. These goods are currently being prepared for shipment to the schools and students who need them most.
The Power of Educator-Led Leadership This initiative was championed by three dedicated educators: Marlon McKenzie, Kimberly Coleman-Mitchell, and Janay Quarles. Teachers know better than anyone that education doesn’t happen in a vacuum. When a student’s basic needs are met, their capacity to learn returns. By looking beyond their own hallways, these educators have shown their students, and ours, what global citizenship looks like in practice.
Why Food Matters for Education It sounds simple, but canned goods are a stabilizing force during disaster recovery. For a family dealing with lost income or a disrupted schedule, having one less meal to worry about means one more hour they can focus on getting their child back into a routine. This support helps bridge the critical gap between emergency relief and long-term stability.
The Road Ahead At StarterBlox, we don’t believe in "one-and-done" charity. We believe in relationships. This donation is the beginning of a partnership between communities that share a common goal: ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of conditions beyond their control.
